“Not to sound dramatic, but this program truly and honestly changed my life. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life, I’ve tried every type of diet, every nutrition program, every workout program, I’ve yo-yo dieted probably since middle school. I had all but given up to the belief that I was just built to be overweight. When I saw other people’s progress photos after working with Kayla, although impressed, I was skeptical. How could this program be any different from anything else I’ve already tried? I am so incredibly happy to say how wrong I was!

This program doesn’t just tell you what you should and shouldn’t be eating, it teaches you WHY. I’ve also been on both sides of the dieting thought process. I used to think, “I don’t need someone to tell me how to eat, I’ll just eat healthy”. Trust me, you will NEVER get as much information on your own as you get from Kayla and Vin. Plus, the internet is full of garbage information. What I THOUGHT was healthy was actually preventing me from not only losing weight but preventing me from feeling my best. The other side of the dieting thought process is “I can’t do it! I can’t eat like that for the rest of my life!” And again, I can tell you YOU CAN! I didn’t believe it either, but once it became habit, I didn’t think of myself as “on a diet”, because it’s not; it’s a lifestyle change to feel your best while still giving yourself the freedom to enjoy life!

Because I came to Kayla mainly for nutritional purposes, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the workouts. I’ve tried other memberships for high intensity workout gyms and I always found myself making excuses to stop because I hated going. I actually would get anxiety before going because of how much I disliked that feeling of trying to keep up with other people with no chance to ever catch my breath. I can confidently say I not only no longer get workout anxiety, I truly look forward to each workout Kayla prepares for me! “Before this program, I’ve tried a couple different ones, and would ALWAYS give up in the first 2 weeks! The other programs didn’t motivate me like this one did. Vin gets very in depth in the nutrition modules on what you should be eating and what foods aren’t good for you. He even provides you with a solid list of items to shop for! “I was always an athlete. I was a collegiate-level football player. I enjoyed science classes in high school and college, especially human physiology and biology courses. I choose a career where you had to be in pretty good physical health. I lead an active lifestyle that included camping, hiking, weight lifting, and pretty much anything that had to do with the outdoors. I maintained a weight of 225 most of my life and at age 35 was in the best shape of my life.

I had two major injuries to my ankles at work when I was 37 and 38, which left me unable to do much of anything I did before the injuries. Within a year, I was up to 260 lbs, soon thereafter to 275, and ultimately 300 lbs by age 45. I was a mess physically and mentally, but I didn’t have the confidence or knowledge to turn my life around and regain a semblance of health. I hit rock bottom in 2020 when I went to a cardiologist in regards to constant fatigue and an abnormal EKG I received at my yearly physical. My symptoms were showing that I had a blockage on the lower left side of my heart. I underwent an invasive procedure, and fortunately it turned out that there was no blockage, but this was my wake-up moment.

It still took me a few months to get motivated to do something. My wife wasn’t happy with her physical health and appearance either, so we decided to do a lifestyle change together. We reached out to Kayla and Vin for a plan and some major help in getting our lives back on track. We started their nutrition program together. I always fancied myself as knowledgeable in regards to nutrition, physiology, and physical health prior to beginning the program. Boy was I wrong! After reading the nutrition modules, it became evident that we didn’t know much at all and what we did know was proven wrong years ago.

We worked together to change our diets and lifestyles. We began getting up at 5:15 AM to get to workout classes by 6 AM. We began eating CLEAN. We put forethought into creating menus for the week. We shopped together, we prepared food together, we talked about food and how we were feeling. It was difficult at first changing a lifestyle that you’ve been accustomed to for decades. We were no longer eating processed foods and sugars. It was tough, but we leaned on each other and day by day saw changes in our appearance and energy levels.

Our weight dropped. Our measurements shrank. The program was working. This was no fad diet. It was education-based and my wife and I were receiving a thorough education on how the body works with proper nutrition. Our before and after pictures were shocking to us after such a short amount of time, but most importantly we felt fantastic. We had more energy than ever. We were feeling well rested after a good night’s sleep. Our energy didn’t drag in the middle of the day. We were educated, and we couldn’t be happier.

Throughout the process, Kayla and Vin were there to offer advice and knowledge. They had confidence in us even when we did not. We are now 5 months removed from our program and the weight is still ticking off us and the energy levels are high. “It’s crazy to look back on the last 12 weeks and think about where I started.

I have never been able to get into a groove since working full time the last 5 years. My job can be very stressful and demanding and my health and fitness really just fell off my priority list. I haven’t been able to lose weight in years and gradually it took its toll. Every time I tried to start working out in the past I would do great for a month and then lose all momentum. I would go to the gym and focus on mainly cardio or find Pinterest workouts and feel overwhelmed by the long circuits. I’d walk aimlessly through gym equipment until I called it quits after hardly touching any of them.

Before reaching out to Kayla I felt desperate but also very anxious. I really didn’t know if this would work for me, I wanted to lose weight but had been so unsuccessful. I knew I needed to change my lifestyle to feel like myself again.

I really can’t explain how happy I am with the entire program and how much it changed me. The workouts progressed at the perfect rate for me and the food aspect also kept me accountable. There are usually 3/4 shorter circuits which helped me feel like I didn’t want to quit after the first time through. I was so surprised with how quickly I started to see results with my weight and mind.

“I have been participating in the Fitfilled Program for several months and I never could have imagined the type of impact it has had on me. “I thought I had a very healthy diet, mostly vegetarian. I’m also active and walk 3-6 miles most days, yet I was slowly but surely continuing to gain weight. “I can’t say enough amazing things about this program. I am someone who needs to understand the “why” behind things, and the educational modules built into the program are SO thorough and informative! “After a year plus of doing at home workouts during the pandemic, and being around food 24/7 I was excited to get back to my normal routine as things began to settle down. My clothes were snug and I definitely lost muscle and definition from years of previous hard work, but I figured I would bounce back fast. But after several months into my routine, I found myself constantly frustrated that it seemed like I was making no progress. For the first time ever I felt like I was just going through the motions at the gym. At that point, I was ready to ask for help.

From Kayla and Vin I learned a couple things; I wasn’t getting anywhere near the amount of protein I needed, and because of that was snacking throughout the day. A lot of the expensive “healthy” foods and snacks I’d buy had either a good amount of sugars or were just not really clean ingredients. I was amazed by how full and good I felt by focusing on eating whole foods. Before starting the program I would always get bloated after eating and assumed it was a food allergy, but since working with Kayla and Vin I do not have that issue which that alone was a HUGE win to me. Most days I would eat three meals because they would be so protein, calorie, nutritionally packed I wasn’t hungry after them.

In the modules there are so many tips and tricks to things I never knew, that I can carry with me for the rest of my life.

The workouts were easily my favorite part. It’s not like a workout class where you are using the same weights every class. Kayla takes your feedback and adjusts your weights as you progress, and the exercises that work best for you (ex. I had previously hurt my hand skiing, and Kayla altered my weights and workouts when it was bothering me). Also I liked that it included stretches/plyos, things I never want to do but are so important to do.

My second favorite part was I still had my dark chocolate fix every day, and my weekly glass of wine. You’re not doing a soul sucking life alerting diet. I made small, very manageable changes that made all the difference in the world to me. My body and gut are strong and happy, and it feels amazing to feel so good! Before the pandemic I was working with a 40lb kettlebell, and by the end of the program I used a 70lb kettlebell – I never would have thought I’d be able to lift that! Proof is in the progress!”

Even through the busiest time of my life (planning a wedding, applying for jobs, and getting a new puppy), I was still able to maintain my nutrition. Now that I’ve completed three months I can see how it is a lifestyle.

Before this journey I had what they call “leaky gut“ and I had stomach aches and bloating and I was constantly going to the bathroom. I no longer have any of those problems, which is incredible. I actually was looking for a gastroenterologist before I found this program and I thought let me just try one more thing before going to the doctor. Little did I know it was all diet. Even through stressful times, my mental health was so much better and my anxiety reduced. My quality of sleep improved tremendously. “Because I know Kayla, I decided to give her program a try. I honestly didn’t think much would come of it, but boy am I glad I tried it because I’m really surprised by my results. To date, I’ve lost 25 pounds. This spanned Thanksgiving, Christmas, and two vacations, which means I lost this weight even despite a lot of cheating. “With my 50th birthday looming over my head, I began this much-needed and long overdue lifestyle change with Kayla in January with personal training, then decided to try out her 12-week nutrition program. Having tried and failed at so many different types of “diets” I was pretty skeptical about there being anything different this time. I was so wrong!! I have learned so much and changed so many bad habits that I didn’t even realize were having a major impact on my health. So what is my takeaway after 12 weeks?

1. That I don’t have to be perfect and on plan 100% of the time. Major “lightbulb” moment as so many past attempts have been so stringent and limited on what you can and can’t have that any misstep made me feel like a complete failure and I would just give up. Kayla’s program really teaches you how to make better and healthier choices but also allows for grace on those days or times when you’re just over it. There is no judgment on those off days just encouragement and understanding and a “you can do this” attitude.

2. Logging your food may seem like a pain, it’s not and it’s so worth the little bit of extra time you take to do it. I was eating foods that I thought were good choices or seemed healthy to me and the feedback on why they weren’t and steering me in a direction to make better selections and try new things has been mind-blowing. Instead of just saying this is bad for you, there was education and modules to refer back to with research and why these foods may seem healthier but really aren’t. I have been opened up to a whole different world of food and products that aren’t weird or fancy or expensive and they fit into any normal routine. There’s no follow this meal plan, or buy these super weird, expensive foods, or you can’t ever have this again plan. With the education provided in the modules I have been able to pretty much modify the things that I cook the most often to be better for me and it wasn’t hard, and didn’t take hours to prepare and cook. For example, just the simple change of what type of salad dressing or mayo I use changes the whole dynamic of the meal, nothing hard, nothing fancy!

3. It’s not just about food and exercise, it’s about whole lifestyle. I had the worst sleeping habits, been a “night owl” for as long as I can remember and just working on changing my sleep cycle has made vast changes in how I feel overall. Instead of my 4 hours of sleep I am now getting at least 6 and my energy is so much higher and I don’t have that foggy brain feeling during the day at work anymore. The support and advice in how to start making these changes was awesome. Kayla has so much knowledge on so many things and offers a variety of ways to help you reach your goals, if something doesn’t work, she has another idea or suggestion at the ready to try.

4. With weight loss being my primary focus and I am on my way with that. There are some benefits that I didn’t expect and was surprised by. For example, I have long hair and it sheds crazy- like I felt like I was going to be bald soon because so much hair would come out after a shower or a good brushing! I can say that a pleasant surprise is that has decreased and I am not losing as much hair as I was. Absolutely something that I just assumed was due to age and had no idea could be fixed with food and exercise changes. Even though personally I am not seeing visible changes in the mirror yet, I have gone down one pant size!

5. I was a fast food junky, typically getting lunch every day from one place or another. I will say that after these 12 weeks, fast food tastes like straight-up garbage and has no appeal to me anymore. I thought that I would really miss soda and fries, and the first month yeah it was hard, but now I don’t even know why I thought it was so awesome. It literally makes me feel sick now and I don’t even crave it. Huge for me!!!

I am on such a better path- this is not a “diet”, it’s a lifestyle, and no it isn’t always easy, you have to be open and willing to do the work, change takes time and you need to forgive yourself when you don’t have your best days.

The support and encouragement that Kayla provides and the “no judgment” attitude is by far the best thing about all of this. She will be with you the entire way, you don’t ever feel like you’re just given instructions and then left out there in the world to figure it out on your own. She will be in your corner the whole time you just have to be willing to fight for what you want! I know people say this all the time but I truly mean it! If I can finally make these changes after 12 years of set in my ways bad habits and treating my mind and body like complete garbage – trust me, anyone can!!!

“For too many years, I struggled with poor nutrition habits. Sugar dependency and poor meal planning were my biggest vices and I frequently reached for not-so-great options in the interest of time. As I was getting ready to return to work after having a baby, I knew it was time to change my ways.
